Traffic Patrol Cars will only visit areas where the police have received complaints from the public about the speed or manner of driving by motorists, or where there's a proven casualty or crash history. Many of the patrol cars will be fitted with video equipment, which will catch any road traffic offence or mistake you make. Any evidence that is gathered on video can be used in court and it's difficult to talk your way out of this one if it's on film. Road policing officers will also use the video as an educational tool and depending on the circumstances you may get some advice which will help you improve your driving skills. The patrol cars feature speed detection equipment such as V.A.S.C.A.R. and Police Pilot, which allow them to measure your speed, and calculate your speed using the simple formula of distance divided by time = speed. The idea is drive responsibly and you will have nothing to worry about. |
