LOCAL COURSES

Most areas in Scotland carry out courses aimed at new or soon to be drivers. If you have the chance go along, any advice will help you.

At school: The chances are that there will be a course held for 6th Year students.

Out of school: Look at local newspapers for adverts for driving talks held at various venues, including police stations. Some talks are free and others you'll have to pay for, but all of them are worthwhile.

If you're still in your first year since having passed your driving test then why not take the Pass Plus course?

Consisting of 6 additional training sessions, it will give you experience of driving in different situations eg:

  • at night
  • bad weather
  • in the city
  • out of town
  • motorway
  • dual carriageway

Whatever you choose to do, think about your safety, your passengers' safety and all other road users.
